Meatless Monday was created in 2003 by Sid Lerner and the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. It’s based on the insight that when you eat less meat and up your intake of healthy plant-based food, the planet is infinitely better off. It’s also thought to help combat a range of chronic and preventable health conditions. Going meatless is good for your body, the planet, and your plate — you’d be surprised by the number of plant-based alternatives you can find to your favorite foods.
